GDP Holdings is led by a group of three current or former executives of the site contracting company, Georgia Development Partners. Each member has over 15 years of experience in leadership roles in the development and construction industries. The fact that all have been on both sides of the project "coin" provides a rounded understanding of the intricacies that go into creating a successful project. Each member lends expertise in the project life cycle, from feasibility, to funding, to construction, to marketing, and to sales. Practical experience in project delivery is further bolstered by the team's educational backgrounds, which range from engineering to management.

Chad Wright

Managing Partner

Mr. Wright began his career consulting for an Atlanta-based Environmental Engineering firm with such clients as the United States Air Force, United States Postal Service, Huntsman Packaging, and numerous developers. In 2002, he became a partner in Development Resource Group, a company that assisted developers in project conception, marketing, and management. He and his team led the development, marketing, and operational staffing of Olde Stone in Kentucky, which consisted of a $40M, 450-acre golf course community and private club comprised of multiple neighborhoods, parks, natural areas, a 30,000 sf golf clubhouse, a 20,000 sf community center, and a golf academy. Golf Digest ranked the course #8 Best New Private Course in 2007. In 2006, Mr. Wright joined a partnership to develop News Place on Ellis Square, an $80M urban infill, mixed-use project in Savannah, Georgia that included hotel, condo, and retail components. The project earned international praise and received a Charter Award by the Congress for the New Urbanism. Mr. Wright served as the day-to-day project manager and led all design, construction, and marketing efforts. In 2010 he joined Georgia Development Partners as Vice President of Business Development, where he helped establish brand identity, corporate culture, and provide bidding opportunities. In 2014, he moved over to direct and manage the long term vision of GDP Holdings. Mr. Wright graduated with honors with a degree in Biology with a Business minor from The University of Richmond, and he later earned a Masters of Environmental Management from Duke University.

Scott Appling

Vice President of Land Acquisition

Mr. Appling brings over 15 years of development experience into his efforts of identifying potential opportunities for GDP Holdings. Earlier in life, he personally developed over 1,000 lot build-outs within Gwinnett, Hall, and Jackson Counties, and he vertically integrated his company with a home building arm that constructed over 400 single family homes within his developments. He enjoyed the day-to-day oversight of the site work, including all of the necessary residential civil infrastructure installations. Mr. Appling managed budgets that grossed over $50,000,000 in revenues. He later brought his fiduciary experience of a developer into his general contracting oversight duties with Georgia Development Partners, where Mr. Appling successfully managed a number of streetscapes, stream restorations, and logistically challenging projects for the company.

Paul McDaniel

Vice President of Estimating of Georgia Development Partners

Prior to working on the GDP Holdings team, Mr. McDaniel gained more than 18 years of experience in the construction industry performing take-offs and establishing budgets for a large grading company in Atlanta. While there, he worked on a mix of heavy civil job sites, DOT work, existing site development, and raw land development projects in Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Alabama, Florida, and Tennessee. He budgeted on average $70M worth of work per year. He left the firm and started his own construction services firm, where he provided third party estimating, risk assessment, feasibility review, and project management services to a number of national homebuilders in the Atlanta market. In 2010, Paul joined Georgia Development partners as a Vice President of Estimating. He currently provides estimating services to both the construction company's bidding efforts and to GDP Holdings development projects. Mr. McDaniel holds a Bachelor of Engineering from Southern Polytechnic State University.
